the scene when sarah goes to talk to mrs. s while she’s bird watching kills me because all i can picture is mrs. s teaching a teeny sarah manning the names of the birds and what they mean in an attempt to help her learn quiet and patience and then they’re there talking about how s needs to be shown that sarah can be still and the bird she’s watching means ‘just passing through’ and sometimes i just can’t with the amount this show makes my chest constrict
Before the last, probably tear-jerking Orphan Black sneak peek is released, here’s an interesting thing. If you don’t remember where this is from, it’s the conversation between Sarah and Mrs. S about Kira, at around halfway through 1x03.
This following dialogue was right before the stuff in the screenshots:
Sarah: Because I saw a way to dump Vic and get out of that life and get away with Kira.
Mrs. S: Ha! Take her on the run with you? Brilliant. New clothes and a Jaguar do not a mother make.
Sarah believes she can make it on her own with Kira, that she belongs with Kira. Mrs. S doesn’t agree and thinks that Sarah moves too much.
Here’s a bit of ornithology:
Bufflehead nest in old woodpecker holes, particularly those made by Northern Flickers, in the forests of northern North America.
Barrow’s Goldeneye (x)
…primarily a duck of the western mountains of North America.
In case you didn’t know, Toronto (which is or is around where they are) is in central/east northern North America. This is important.
The bird is from western North America and it’s passing through central/east Canada. Sarah thinks it belongs, but Mrs. S thinks it doesn’t and will be leaving soon.
I smell some symbolism.
at this point i think every member of clone club is just terrified to leave the house cause we know we’ll miss sOMETHING
